• Complete mechanical, electrical and electronic revamping, refurbishment and relocation of two existing old high level depaletizers

Petronas Lubricants Italy awarded Bierre Automazioni the contract for the recovery, revamping and relocation of two old high level depalletizers at Villastellone (TO) plant.

The two obsolete machines were disassembled at the customer’s premises and then transported and erected at Bierre workshop, where they were carefully and meticulously refurbished:

  • general mechanical maintenance;
  • change-over modifications to handle the new 20 lt plastic drum format in place of the old metal can formats for lubricating oil;
  • complete repainting;
  • new electrical system;
  • new control cabinet with PLC;
  • new automation software program;
  • new perimetral safety protections with dedicated circuit;
  • EC certification, including new license plate and use and maintenance manual.

Before shipment, the two depalletizers were deeply tested, so to ensure rapid installation and start-up works at the customer’s plant, and to optimize the shutdown of the downstream packing lines during the reassembling activities on site.

Achieved results

The complete mechanical, electrical and electronic revamping of the two existing depalletizers in compliance with the current EC safety regulations allowed Petronas Lubricants Italy to recover two disused machines, which otherwise would have been demolished.

Thanks to the expertise of Bierre Automazioni, the state-of-the-art refurbishment and the achieved increase in efficiency allowed to fully meet the required capacity of empty drums for the two downstream production lines and, at the same time, permitted to minimize the customer’s investment costs compared to the alternative of purchasing two new machines.
