To solve the problems of continuous downtime and efficiency losses of an old existing bag palletizer serving one of the polyethylene processing lines at its plant in Ragusa, Versalis SpA, a chemical company of ENI Group, commissioned Bierre Automazioni to remake the complete automation program, which was no longer compliant with the current production requirements, having changed significantly compared to the time of the original installation.
The turnkey supply included the new software program for Siemens S7 PLC, and the relevant on-site tests and start-up by Bierre programmers.
The new program completely replaced the existing one and, based on the client’s requirements, it was developed to facilitate operators in using the machine and in intervening in the event of any malfunctions, thereby simplifying troubleshooting activities.
